OUR FOCUS
Food Secure NM (FSNM) exists to transform NM’s agricultural sector into a regenerative and sustainable food model that addresses extreme and unpredictable weather conditions, embraces new technologies, and increases access to locally grown foods in all 33 counties of the state. Children, seniors, low-income and working families receive and enjoy food that is grown, aggregated, and distributed collectively using processes that create community wealth, support healthy food choices, honor New Mexico’s agricultural heritage, ancestral and intergenerational farming methods through mentorship and training programs, and that nurture caring for our shared natural resources.
Agri-Cultura Network (ACN) and La Cosecha Community Supported Agriculture (La Cosecha CSA) have been working together for the past 15 years to advance strong local food system with the collective goal of achieving food security in New Mexico.
Over these years, ACN and La Cosecha CSA have organized regenerative farmers not only in the South Valley but throughout the state. Together, we have worked diligently with the New Mexico Food and Agricultural Council to change procurement practices for state institution investment in supporting our missions while also developing a robust and successful farm to market aggregation and distribution business. To date, we distribute ten to sixteen thousand pounds of New Mexico grown fruits, vegetables and meat that is distributed within Bernalillo County and statewide markets inclusive of public education departments, senior nutrition sites, early childhood centers, WIC, food banks and to thirteen of the nineteen pueblos.
Agri-Cultura Cooperative Network supports and strengthens New Mexico’s small farming and ranching economy.
